Alexander James McLean

A.J. was born on 9 ^th January 1978 at 14.30 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Florida / USA.

Bone's first role in front of the audience was Dopey in a school production of the "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", when he was 5 years old.

When he was 12 years old, A.J. moved from his native West Palm Beach in Florida to Orlando where he attended the Florida Academy of Dramatic Arts.

A.J.'s favourite subject at school was English and he hated mathematics.

He has appeared in several productions, most notably "Hi Honey I'm Home" for Nickelodeon - "I played a character called Skunk. I had to dye my hair blond down the middle and shave the sides to give me a long rat tail. It was kind of embarrassing !"

Denise - A.J.'s mom - said: "It's really weird, he's a brilliant dancer, but put him in a pair of rollerblades and he's all over the place !"

Alex collects sunglasses. He has got over 100 right now! Recently he collects also huts.

His favourites designer clothes are: Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Nike, DKNY.

Bone's most embarassing moment: "My pants fell down in class and I was wearing boxers with kisses on them."

He likes Geena Davies, Pam Anderson, Cindy Crawford, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gwen Stephani (No Doubt).

When he was at school, A.J. wanted to be a lawyer. Now he thinks he'd like to be a producer.

A.J.'s favourite things: film - "Pulp Fiction" ; book - "Witches" and William Shakespeare's ; perfume - CK One ; instrument - the saxophone.

He passed his driving test on the second attempt.

In February this year A.J. was very ill. He didn't perform at Bravo Super Show'98 and RSH Gold Party (both in Germany).

Alex has met his father after a few years. Robert McLean had been following his son's career and has a Backstreet Boys album.

AJ sprained a thigh muscle during a show in Toronto'98, Canada. But after a short stay in hospital, he was straight back on stage. He couldn't dance, but he sang as gorgeous as always!

A.J. loves to read poetry by Edgar Allen Poe and T.S.Eliot.

He admits to be the biggest worry-wart of the group.

His favourite instrumental is bass guitar.

He claims that he still gets nervous before starting every new song in concert.

A.J. says he's a great cook. His speciality is a pasta dish with beans and herbs, spices and potatoes. "It's a really cool Italian dish. My mother taught me how to cook it."

A.J. is rarely seen without his sunglasses.

Bone says he thinks his eyes are his strongest feature. So why is always wearing sunglasses, then? Even though he likes his eyes, he went through a phase of wearing green contact lenses. That's what he says about it: "Mixed in with my natural brown colour it made me look like I had snake eyes." But he stopped wearing them, 'cause they freaked out his mom !
